Music Shopping Mall highly recommends all songs in the “Lofty’s Roach Souffle” album by Harry Connick Jr.. All of our staff loved the composition from start to finish! All songs are piano-bass-drums instrumental trios. “One Last Pitch” is ingeniously simplistic that toy with your earbuds, wanting more easy melodies

5. Rating: 5.7/10 (2006 votes cast)

Harry Connick Jr.’s career has spanned for nearly 3 decades. This album is a snapshot of him during his exhuberant/happy years, when his piano drove the melodies of all his songs. We believe he wanted his piano to limelight over his singing so that he wouldn’t be confined to the big brass bands genre. The transition was abrupt to many because he had built up such a big following for his Sinatra-esque swing tunes.

Music Shopping Mall thinks that this album is worth buying. The CD quality is excellent, the songs are crisp and neatly matches your everyday emotions. Pay attention to simple the melodies are in “One Last Pitch”, “Hudson Bomber”, and “Harronymous”, but listen closely to the elegant timing shifts. The Harry Connick Jr., Benjamin Jonah Wolfe, and Shannon Powell trio has made a beautiful album that will stand the test of time. “Colomby Day”, “Little Dancing Girl”, and “Bayou Maharajah” are saved for the ending tracks to wind down the jazz to its most basic form.
